Marcus Allen Tynes
Marcus life goal was to become a swat officer. At the age of 15, he began pursuing his endeavor by joining and becoming actively involved in the Moreno Valley Police Explores. Marcus furthered his community involvement and service for his country and enlisted in the U.S. Army after graduating Valley View High School. Marcus was loving and compassionate towards others, befriended many and was well liked, charming, a jokester who always wore a smile. PFC. Marcus Tynes lost his life in combat at the age of 19 while on patrol with his fellow officer when their Humvee drove over and IED in Zabul, Afghanistan.
Marcus' Heart Foundation
The Foundation a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization was set up in Marcus’s honor. Our mission is to provide support to seniors in high school who have been accepted into academic institutions of higher learning that have met the MHF scholarship requirements. MHF also mentors youth while they are in the crossroads of decision for their future. At the same time we are dedicated to helping our solders during challenging times they may have while transitioning to civilian life through support and guidance.
Dana and Bruce Atlas
Bruce and Dana Atlas, parents of Marcus, established the Marcus’s Heart Foundation. We organize fundraisers and community events and also seek sponsorship from business, local and abroad, to support our youth, our military servicemen and women and veterans.
