"Eventually I would like to have my own Pediatric practice and be able to offer services to the underprivileged in the community. My beliefs are that everyone should be allowed to receive the best medical care that is available, regardless of how much money is in your bank account. I want to be a role-model for other African-American scholars like myself." |
Jade RichardsClass of 2016 | Azuza Pacific University, Azuza, CA
Jade received help with her application fees, book expenses and grants for classes. "During my career at Azusa Pacific University in the Psychology Department it was easy to see that without extra scholarships and loans it would be impossible to stay. The Marcus Heart Foundation made sure that these payments were made and also helped with books and meal plans. Not only did they give me a financial stability in my college endeavors but they also gave encouragement. They always made sure to call and keep my spirits up in order to remind me of why I wanted this in the beginning. They also made sure to be apart of my graduation, which shows that their work is not just behind a screen or desk. Their encouraging words and amazing purpose is what kept me motivated to finish in 4 years. If it wasn't for their continued support I don't know if I would have been able to make it this far. So I just wanted to take the time out to thank the Marcus Heart Foundation for all that they have done for me. Thank you for the continuous building of a mindset to further my education. Your foundation has helped me to maintain focus that has also landed me a spot in the Clinical Psychology Master's program at Antioch University." |
